When you send a fax, you need to know what's happening. Is the fax being sent? Is the line busy? You may need to know and we want to give you that information. Below I'm going to give a short description of the status codes and error codes so that you can stay in the know.

Status Codes

• Queued - When you send off your request to our servers, the status is queud by default. Don’t worry, there are thousands of concurrent lines so you aren’t queud behind other faxes - it’s just the default response.
• In Progress - You’ll see this status while the system dials the phone. 
• In Progress (Call Active) - Get excited because it’s ringing and sending!
• In Progress (Will Retry) - Something went wrong but we’ll give it another go. Check the error codes for more information.
• Partial Success - Part of your fax went through but we can’t vouch for all of it? This could have been caused by ‘noise’ on the phone lines. 
• Success - Hell Yeah. 
• Failure – Somewhere something went wrong. Try checking out the error code for a better explanation. 

Error Codes

• Hung Up - We can’t seem to make a real connection to the fax machine on the other side. 
• Ring Timeout - The fax machine isn’t picking up the call. Make sure you’re calling a fax line or that the fax machine is hooked up. 
• Busy - Someone picked up or is already on the line. (Remember Phaxio will automatically try back after three minutes.)
• Congestion
• Received No Response to DCS or TCF - This means that the other fax machine doesn’t know how to properly communicate and is almost always the result of sending to an old version of a virtual fax system. 
• Timed Out Waiting for Initial Communication - Nobody picked up on the other side.
